Do you have a contract?

Yes. All legitimate DJs, Karaoke hosts, and the like will have a drawn-up contract. Mine is very minimal but it's important to have. Contracts ensure that someone will be there at your event.

Will you bring an assistant?

With today's technology, this is a one-man job, but I may bring someone to help me set up, depending on the venue.

Can we visit you at an event to see you in “Action"?

I hope to soon have some public events that will be advertised on the website.

Will you act as the  Master of Ceremonies?

Though this is usually the job of a close friend or a designated person, I will certainly, if asked, make important announcements. After all, I do have a mic.

When do you arrive to set up an event?

I will arrive at least 30 minutes to an hour (your preference) prior to the contracted start time of the event, and earlier as needed by the setup requirements of the site. You just never know with technology, so it’s best to play it safe 😊

How many players should I have at my event?

The game works best with teams, so think teams of 2-3 people minimum and 3 teams minimum. I can work with as little people as possible, but know that the game only works when people break into at least 3 teams. You can have 9-100+ people! The more the merrier!

What do you require for set up?

I have all the equipment I need (sound, mic, table, chair, and personality.) All I need is a power source. Make sure that the venue is suitable for the weather. If it rains, I will need to be covered 😊

How noisy is a music trivia event?

Music trivia does not have to be noisy, especially in smaller crowds. However, you have to mind your neighbors and abide by your city bylaws when it comes to hours and noise, as well as the rules of your residence etc. That is your responsibility, not mine.

Are you properly licensed to play mainstream music?

Yes. Anyone in this trade is a music lover and in full support of all musicians who make the beautiful music we get to play with.

How long is an event? How late can you go for and how early can you start?

Depending on the day of the week, an event can go as late as midnight or as early as 11am, according to your city bylaws around noise (if this is an outdoor event, that is kind of important!)

Do you do DJ and Karaoke as well?

Unfortunately, I do not possess the gifts of a karaoke host or a DJ. Those are totally separate services. Please reach out to my contact page so that I can provide you with some amazing mid-island talent.

Do you do events for kids or do kids music trivia activities?

Absolutely! Who said music trivia just had to be for adults?! Please see the ‘Services’ page to see more!

What parts of the Island do you serve?

Bonzai's Boppin' Battles is based in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island but this is a portable business and I can travel. If your event/venue is out of the Nanaimo area, let me know. Depending on where you are located on the island, there may be an additional travel/accommodation fee added to your quote.
